The pianist Kristaps Vanadziņš is visiting Daugavpils within his solo tour.
Within the 12th Music and Art festival "Daugavpils ReStArt 2023" on September 18th at 6pm in Daugavpils Culture Castle (92 Smilsu street) Kristaps Vanadziņš invites to his solo concert “Portraits”, not only a musical delight, but also a personal and interactive experience to everyone.
“Portraits” - the new solo project of Kristaps Vanadziņš is uniting the journey in the music and personal experience. During the tour Vanadziņš will not only improvise and perform well known melodies mixed with his own music, but will also invite the audience to participate in common musical interaction. Some lucky listeners will become the portrait of his piano music, created on the stage. “Portraits” is going to be a unique experience allowing the audience to enjoy and draw their own musical portrait together with Kristaps Vanadziņš and share the emotions.
The central part of the show is going to be improvised portraits of the audience – musical miracles, created “here and now”. But it’s not everything! You will be invited to participate in musical interaction, to create and inspire some additional musical portraits.
“It is a game involving the audience, inviting them to the stage, supplementing the performance with percussions and different fragile items. It is a joyful and lively interaction both for the performers and the listeners. It will be a concert involving the audience, full of emotions and closeness”, tells Vanadziņš.
Kristaps Vanadziņš is one of the brightest contemporary Latvian jazz pianists. His jazz ensembles’ repertoire is combining several genres, the performed compositions reveal unusual harmonies and creative innovations. Vanadziņš’s Trio album “The Love Garden Has Overgrown”, (publishing house “Jersika Records”) has received award “Zelta Mikrofons ’22” in jazz and fank category and has also been nominated in category “Gada albums”.
