How to trust your heart when it is so easy to get lost in your thoughts? While searching for the answers, the calm and melodic though sometimes unpredictable mood created by the singer Elina Silova will lure the audience into her dream world surprising with stylistic diversity, improvised atmospheric interludes, expressive vocal and orchestral drum rhythms. Synthesis of acoustic and electronic instruments and the voice merging with the rest of the instruments into a common scenery of sounds, create a very special, occasionally, even mystical mood.
Elina Silova - a Latvian singer, improviser and composer. She has received bachelor degree in jazz music at Amsterdam University of the Arts in the Netherlands and master degree at Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Denmark. Her passion for improvised music and different usage of voice have developed her personal view upon the performance and have led to participation in various projects in Europe within pop, folk, indie, jazz, and improvised music.
Since 2012 she is a member of the group “How Town”, has released 4 albums, actively performed in Europe, in 2015 she received Yound Music prize Theatre Aan Zee in festival in Belgium, and Grand Prix Keep an Eye The Records 2017 prize in the Netherlands. How Town have performed in such festivals and venues as Match&Fuse (UK), Jazz International Rotterdam (NL), Bimhuis (NL), Porgy&Bess (AUS) ect.
In summer 2019 she released her debut album “Rezonanse” and presented it in concerts in Liepaja and Riga with the international participants of the album: Matiss Cudars (LV), Lennart Heyndels (BE), Ole Mofjell (NO). More about the album you can find here: https://elinasilova.bandcamp.com/releases.
