Opera diva Inga Kalna's astonishing vocal proficiency, intuitive but 'right on' interpretation make every appearance unforgettable either in a role, or on the concert stage. Fully at ease from the Baroque to the modern of today, from chamber music's intimacy to large-scale oratorios, or leading opera roles, Kalna is magnificent.

Having completed her engagement at Staatsoper Hamburg, one could say that Inga Kalna's status today is 'freelance'. This status still keeps her busy, with more time now devoted to her beloved Classicism and Baroque operas, performing (besides Germany) in France, Canada and Italy.

Rare but certainly eagerly awaited are her solo concerts in Latvia, of which the last one - "An Evening of Bel Canto Arias", won the prestigious Grand (Lielā) Music Award in the category: Concert of the Year.

This concert will have Kalna wrapping her warm soprano around miniatures by Richard Strauss, and several gems from the songbooks of the Latvian masters AlfrēdsKalniņš and JānisMediņš. Piano accompaniment as always will be entrusted to her steadfast colleague DiānaKetlere.
