First Performance of Valerio Tricoli’s creation at Stanislavs Broks Daugavpils Music Secondary School

Friday, 21 September, 6pm, within VII music and art festival Daugavpils ReStArt 2018 at Stanislavs Broks Daugavpils Music Secondary School. Valerio Tricoli - Sicilian composer and improviser offers the first performance of his work, which is also the closing event of the series of concerts „Skaņu Mežs creations commissioned to Latvia’s Centenary”.

Valerio Tricoli is a Sicilian composer based in Munich, sound artist, improviser, producer, sound engineer and curator, whose primary interest in creative activities is to merge the so called musique concrete and conceptual approach to sound with radical observations on how the reality, virtual dimension and memory interact through the sound. In his performances the artist uses tapes, tape recorders, synthesizers, microphones, and light effects creating impressive and satiated with mysticism sound collages. Tricoli albums are released by such solid experimental music publishers as PAN and Entr’acte.

The concert series “Skaņu Mežs’ commissioned works for Latvia’s Centenary” is comprised of three concerts of first performances of pieces from a selection of avant-garde genres (free improvisation, contemporary music, and electroaccoustic music). Each of the three new works from this project will be performed in a different Latvian city – Jelgava, Liepāja and Daugavpils. This is the third and the closing event. Tricoli has created a new composition of electronic music.

The concert is free of charge. This project has received support from the program  ”Latvia – 100” Club “Artilerijas Pagrabi” and VII MUSIC AND ART FESTIVAL Daugavpils ReStArt 2018
