VI Music and Art Festival “Daugavpils ReStArt 2017”offers:

18 September, 6.00 p.m. – Vienibas Nams Concert hall – a concert of classical music - Pianist Reinis ZARINS (Great Britain) and DAUGAVPILS SINFONIETTA conducted by Aivars BROKS.

Programme:

BACH – BUSONI, CHOPIN, RAVEL, PLAKIDIS, PELECIS.

Reinis Zarins (1985), born in Riga, presently resident in London, one of the Latvian outstanding pianist. Three times he has won the Latvia’s Grand Music Award (2012, 2013 and 2015).

Laureate of 11 international competitions, Zarins has appeared in various music festivals, including Lucerne Festival, Bath International Music festival, Yale-Norfolk chamber music Festival, Master Works, Kremerata Baltica festival, Crescendo and Holland Music Sessions. As solo pianist, chamber musician and soloist in the concerts he has performed on both coasts of the Atlantic Ocean and in South Africa; has had a cooperation with symphony orchestras in Europe, Russia, and USA in such concert places as Amsterdam Concertgebouw, Carnegie Centre Weil hall, Steinway hall in New York, Wigmore hall in London, Glazunow hall in St.Petersburgh and others. The collaboration with Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös and Ensemble Intercontemporain strengthened Reinis’s interest towards contemporary music and its relationships with the classic repertoire.

At the age of seven Reinis started playing piano and at the age of ten he had his debut as a soloist with an orchestra. Excellently graduated Jazeps Medins, Emils Darzins and Yale School of Music (USA)and Royal Academy of Music in London.

Reinis has published three highly appreciated albums: “Circus & Magic”,and “Jazeps Vitols – Works for Solo Piano”, as well concerts’ records from Wigmore hall in London.

Reinis Zarins persuasive ability to interpret both the classic and the contemporary works has delighted the listeners all around the world including Amsterdam Concertgebouw, new York Carnegie and Steinway halls as well Wigmore hall in London.

Together with orchestra DAUGAVPILS SINFONIETTA the outstanding pianist will perform Peteris Plakids’ – Music for piano, string orchestra and timpani and George Pelecis – Concertino Bianco in C for piano and string orchestra.
